What to Expect

vintage carsYou may be wondering what you can expect when you visit the Great Smoky Mountains during one of the Pigeon Forge car shows. Depending on the theme of the show, you will see more of that particular type of car. If the Great Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion is happening, you are likely to see Wranglers and Gladiators. For Ponies in the Smokies, you will probably spot all kinds of Ford Mustangs. The most variety usually comes in for the Spring and Fall Rod Runs, which is when car enthusiasts bring their vintage and classic cars and line them up on the Parkway for other aficionados to enjoy!

In addition to seeing specific cars, you can expect an influx in traffic. With more cars in the Smokies, there will be more traffic. If you have a specific area you want to drive in or an attraction you want to visit, be sure you leave with extra time to get there during these Pigeon Forge car shows. Many people enjoy driving around in their cars while they are here for the weekend, so more people are out on the roads in addition to the regular vacationers you might expect to be in the area.

Many of the car shows take place at the LeConte Event Center. People park their vehicles in the parking lot so visitors can admire them. There could be competitions you can enter your car in, prizes, and other kinds of events you could participate in. For the larger Pigeon Forge car shows, people will park their vehicles in the parking lot of the hotel or a local restaurant nearby so those people who are cruising down the Parkway in Pigeon Forge have the opportunity to stop and talk to the owner about their favorite cars.
