A Weekend Itinerary for the Ultimate Smoky Mountain Romantic Getaway

Do you and your significant other need some time away for yourselves? Now is the perfect time to enjoy quality time together in the beautiful Smokies! But how do you decide what to do during your Smoky Mountain romantic getaway? Let us help you with the ultimate weekend itinerary!

Friday

Gatlinburg SkyPark

After settling into your hotel suite or cabin rental, it’s time to explore! One of the best things to do for adults in Gatlinburg is to ride the SkyLift to the top of the mountain and explore the SkyPark. This popular attraction is most famous for the SkyBridge, a portion of which is completely see-through thanks to the glass panels at your feet. The scenery is breathtaking year-round!

Dinner and Drinks at The Greenbrier

We recommend going to The Greenbrier for a romantic dinner and drinks. It’s a secluded, romantic spot with beautiful views and an elevated dining experience. People rave about their salmon and steak, as well as their iconic cocktail, The Dylan.

Saturday

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

After that delicious dinner and a relaxing evening, you’ll be ready to explore the beautiful national park. Before heading out, grab breakfast from your hotel or cabin so you can get an early start. You can choose to drive the scenic Cades Cove Loop, walk the Gatlinburg Trail, or hike to a gorgeous overlook. Waterfalls are also popular hiking destinations, and some of the best waterfall hikes include Cataract Falls, Laurel Falls, and Abrams Falls.

Lunch at No Way Jose’s

Satisfy your hunger at No Way Jose’s in Gatlinburg for lunch! You’re bound to have worked up an appetite after your hike, and their Tex-Mex dishes will fill you up. Whether you like burritos, fajitas, or enchiladas, you can expect fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and friendly service at this Mexican restaurant.

Arts & Crafts Community

Another fun thing to do during your Smoky Mountain romantic getaway is to shop for unique souvenirs and other handmade items along the arts & crafts loop in Gatlinburg. From woodworking and pottery to leather goods, candles, soaps, jewelry, and other decor, this area is filled with talented artisans and small businesses to support.

Mountain Coaster

If you’re ready for a thrilling adventure, take a ride on a mountain coaster! You can ride together or one at a time at Moonshine Mountain Coaster, located near Hillbilly Golf. You can control the speed using the handbrake, so it’s up to you whether you zip around the track or take a more leisurely ride and admire the scenic mountain views.

Dinner and Drinks at Smith & Son Corner Kitchen

You can expect a full menu of appetizers, salads, and entrees, as well as a full drink menu and cocktails. Favorite burgers and sandwiches on the Smith & Son menu include the Gatlinburger with fried tobacco onions and the Rocky Top Rachel with smoked turkey, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese with house-made thousand island dressing on marbled rye bread. Other entrees, such as slow-cooked ribs, open-faced roast beef, and smoked meatloaf, are also available. And don’t forget about dessert! Our chocolate cake layered with chocolate mousse is out of this world good!

Astra Lumina Night Walk

End your night by going up to experience Anakeesta’s Astra Lumina. This night walk is an immersive celestial journey with audio and visual displays that will leave you in awe. It’s the perfect date night activity during a romantic Smoky Mountain getaway!

Sunday

Breakfast at Crockett’s Breakfast Camp

Crockett’s serves the best breakfast in Gatlinburg, with giant cinnamon rolls, hearty omelets, and golden griddle cakes you won’t find anywhere else. The Southern hospitality and cozy lodge atmosphere make for a memorable last meal in the Smokies.

Shopping at The Village

Before heading home, stroll along the Gatlinburg strip and take in the sights, browse display windows, and even do some last-minute shopping. The Village is a great place to do so, with nearly 30 unique shops!

This is just the beginning of all the fun in the Smokies! Discover more unique Gatlinburg attractions for couples and start planning your ultimate Smoky Mountain romantic getaway!
